Information About Headmaster/Headmistress Jobs

The headmaster is a prominent personality in the school and has to handle many problems during his tenure. As new students join every year, there are problems related to transfer certificates, class changes, etc. The headmaster should be able to solve them with an understanding temper.

Scale of Headmaster

The scale of this post will be 17th. 

Qualifications Required for the Headmaster

The minimum qualification for this position will be a Master’s degree (arts or science) 2nd division from a recognized university.

M.Ed, M.A (Education)       OR

B.Ed. (second division) from a recognized University.

Note: Before the implementation of amended rules on 05.04.1989, secondary school teachers employed by the School Education Department may be promoted to the position of Headmaster or Deputy Headmaster without holding a Master’s or Master’s degree from a recognized university but shall not be eligible for promotion to the position of Subject Specialist. 

Note: Subject Specialists shall not be eligible for posting as Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster, or Assistant Director unless they have served as Subject Specialists for a period of ten years.

How To Apply

To apply for headmaster/headmistress jobs with PPSC, you must submit an online application and pay a challan for RS 600 to any of the banks listed on the challan form.

The PPSC has also introduced an online fee collection procedure applicable from 01 August 2022. It is recommended that applicants deposit fees online by using the following methods:

  • ATMs
  • Mobile Phone Banking
  • Internet Banking
  • Over the counter (by visiting the nearest 1Link Member Banks Branches)

You can also deposit fees using Jazz Cash, Easy Paisa, U Paisa, and other available microfinance banks.  Bank drafts, pay orders, and cheques will not be accepted.

In the next step, you visit the official website of the Punjab Public Service Commission and apply for your desired position, submitting all of your personal and academic information there. 

After applying, you will obtain an application number. Remember this number because you will need it next time to obtain your roll number slip.   

How To Prepare for Headmasters’ jobs test

Various online resources are available for Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science, and Basic Computer Studies. 

You can also read newspapers and magazines and get information from many other resources available on the internet. You will also focus on textbooks from the Punjab textbook board.

Tips for Interview

In the interview process, three interviewers set and conduct interviews with each applicant. The first man asks subject-related questions, the second one asks general questions, and the third observes your confidence and asks any general questions.  

You have the opportunity to showcase your knowledge and what sets you apart from your competitors during an interview. However, if you’re not ready, you may not make it.
